(Series on my Trip to PERU - South America - Department of PUNO - City of PUNO - The Bay of PUNO in the TITICACA LAKE - From September 6th to 22nd, 2007 - #003!)
OS UROS NA BAÍA DE PUNO - THE UROS IN THE BAY OF PUNO - LOS UROS EN LA BAHIA DE PUNO - Nowadays, the Uros' main income comes from tourism! Therefore, don't expect to get there and really find genuine culture (unfortunately, most places I have visited around the world has succumbed to tourism!). Nevertheless, the visit's worthwhile, if you avoid paying attention to what's fake and focus on what the place would have been like some hundreds of years ago!
At the top of a watchtower in one of the islands (the one I was staying at) I saw this view and thought it sort of reminded of Venice (another tourist crowded place!) and in my imagination I was transported back to the times they had only the lake to survive! I enjoyed it and I hope you all do it so!
There's one more WS version, with a wider view of the same scene!
"The Lake Titicaca is located on the border of Bolivia and Peru. It sits 3,812 m (12,500 ft) above sea level making it the highest commercially navigable lake in the world. By volume of water it is also the largest lake in South America.
"It's notable for many reasons such as the Uros people who live on a group of 42 or so artificial islands, made of floating reeds ("Totora", a reed that abounds in the shallows of the lake). Those islands have become a major tourist attraction for Peru, drawing excursions from the lakeside city of Puno. Their original purpose was defensive and they could be moved if a threat arose. Many of the islands contain watchtowers largely constructed of reeds!"

Hello Neyvan,
excellent perspective view, with the tree boats! Interesting composition.
The boat in the FG looks a little overexposed (perhaps the sun was shining too brightly!) but the reflection of it in the water makes it up for the overexposure :)
I like the way these three boats are placed, one by one; they help to show the respective and distance.
best regards,
Elena

Olá Neyvam
Os barcos são lindos e se parecem com aqueles barcos vikings. Um belo enquadramento deles na baía. Fiquei curiosa sobre o material com que são fabricados.

Ciao caro amico mio,

Hi Neyvan
Nice vertical compo with good view on the typical boat in FG, i spexially like the water texture and shine on the lower part of the picture... Could maybe have closed one step, as the light was apparently very bright, but still a very good picture!
Greetings
