Taquile is a Peruvian island on Lake Titicaca, a quite remote location.
It's very cold up there (the lake is 3,812 meters above sea level, and the main village of the island at 3,950 meters), and everyone on the island - children, women, and men - spin and weave.
About 1,700 people live on the small island (5.7 kmē).
The inhabitants still speak Quechua, one of the main languages of the pre-Spanish Inca Empire. Actually, the island was one of the last locations in Peru to be conquered by the Spanish.

Beautiful portrait shot and I like very much that he didn't look at your camera!

It's been a long time since I've seen your work but this excellent portrait caught my eye as I was scanning the gallery. The high, narrow face, the clothes, the busy hands and the rock wall BG all show us a different world. This is a compo that could stand alone without a note.

interesting portrait, really expressive face... I have noticed his strange hat and interesting rocky formation in the background... :o) Nice capture.

Hi Daniel, I do not need to read the title or the note to recognize the man of Taquile. I think it is the only place in the world when man are so fond of spinning. I see that he has just begun a new cap:))

Excellent portrait full of local character. He doesn't seem to look at to work he's doing but something else off the screen. I wonder if you overdid noise reduction as this has sort of plastic smooth appearance.
