Série sobre minha Viagem ao PERU - América do Sul - De 06 a 22 de Setembro de 2007 - nº 061 !
(Series on my Trip to PERU - South America - From September 6th to 22nd, 2007 - # 061 !)
LAGO TITICACA E ILHA TAQUILE (II)!
TITICACA LAKE AND TAQUILE ISLAND (II)!
LAGO TITICACA Y ISLA TAQUILE (II)!
LAC TITICACA ET ÎLE TAQUILE (II)!
During a "one-day" tour in the LAKE TITICACA, I visited the TAQUILE ISLAND (In the peruvian side of the lake, because it is in the border between PERU and BOLIVIA; it's also the largest island in the whole lake, with 6 square kilometers and 45km away from the city of PUNO - some sources say 15 miles, others, 35km)!
A place with no electricity, neither many other modern devices!
People there (around 1,700 inhabitants) try to live as simple as they can!
In this picture, a bit of the local architecture and the people who live there, with their typical clothes!
A curiosity: men are the ones who knit there!
The lake looks like a sea, but it's around 3,800masl!
I really thought I was transported not only in space, but in time as well! I enjoyed the visit, but would hate to live there!

I remember this gate on Taquile. When I was there the weather was very clear. When one looked straight through this gate towards the lake it was possible to see a long range of snowcapped mountains in Bolivia.
But you were lucky you found so many traditional dressed habitants at the gate.
Their red hats add more colour on this picture with a beautiful blue sky and lake.
Best regards, Paul

An interesting composition of this old stone arch surmounted by the bowler-hatted busts. The people, especially the two men in the foreground, add a bit of local colour and add to the atmosphere. Good colours and sharpness.

This is a very well composed shot. Your angle is perfect - allowing us to see people on both sides of the archway.
Beautiful colours and texture on the wall. Very well framed with the inclusion of both the cross and the horizon.
Have a good weekend,

Another interesting Titicaca photo with good composition and colour. Did you buy some of the local knitted products?

The gate with decorations and cross are very nice for look at.
I like the traditional costume of the people around the gate.
Perspective and depth are good through the perfect angle choice.
Composition and presentation be superb.
Very well done, TFS.

Ciao dear Neyvan,
very beautiful to admire the blue of the lake in the natural frame of this ancient arc. You have done really a pleasant composition, well animated by the men in the their traditional clothes, and with a perfect sharpness. Compliments, dear friend!
Ciao, have a nice week!

Clever "mise en scène" with a good use of the arch, the locals and the sea as the ultimate background.
The only regret I feel is that the blue is too harsh, a kind of color that seem to be too bright. It's just an impression because I wasn't there, but on the screen it doesn't appear representative, unless it was the hard light of afternoon.
But lets get back to what I like, the composition, the position of the door, two different subjects positioned in opposite orientation.
I just need to convinced about the blue and I'm a fan.. :-P)

um precioso campanário, os pináculos lembram cabeças de cholas. muito bom enquadramento com os locais ali embaixo e o lago ao longe. linda foto.

Interesting presentation of the old arch, slightly on the side...allowing to see through it, the local people wearing their traditional clothing and the lake behind them.
The sculpted heads with their bowler hats on each side of the cross are excellent details to look at!
I also like to see the knitting man in front which balances well the image.
Greetings from Cambodia
