Photographer's Note

This cute alpaca lives at high altitude near Laguna Lagunillas (4714 m), an Andean Lake located half way between Chivay and Puno. The alpaca is an important part of Peruvian's lives, providing wool for clothing and food. Unlike llamas, they are not bred to be beasts of burden. Shepherds with large herds of alpacas are a common sight in this area. I named this guy Squishyface for obvious reasons. He liked getting his picture taken.
