Photographer’s Note

On the way to Manu we had a massive landslide. We crossed the landslide on foot and swapped buses with others. Then the locals roadblocked 20km of road which we had to hike over carrying all our gear. This was on the way, a pet who was being fed some strang fruit which we also tried. Later on the locals (coca growers protesting - shining path are back) tied our boat up and wouldn't let us leave so the cook machetted the line and we bolted... and that was before we even got in the jungle!
