At the summit of the Morro Solar dominating Chorrillos to the South of Lima is this monument to the unknown soldier. It does commemorate the terrible Battle of Chorrillos, one of the most bloody episodes of the sadly called "Pacific War" (Guerra del Pacifico (1879-1884)).
It is a lonesome obelisk often lost in the non-ending fog dominating Lima. When I arrived there, I was lucky enough to suspect the sun behind the clouds... but it didn't last for long !

C'est bien d'avoir joué avec cette silouhette. La lumière est belle dans ce ciel, et le fait de voir apparaitre le soleil est tres beau.
J'aurais volontié coupé la partie droite de l'image qui donne un format carré pas très heureux et qui n'apporte rien à l'image.
A ce détail près, c'est une image très belle.

What a haunting shot! The muted colours and swirling mist, blocking out the sun, add a surreal quality. I like the composition and the way you have continued the silhouette into the border.

Salut Eric,

Tu as bien utilise le contre-jour pour donner du caractere a cette photo. Le ciel dramatic, le visage cache du soldad, tous va bien avec le theme. J'avait pense inicielement qui peut-etre une cadrage plus cerre fonctionerait meilleur, mais en pensant bien ca enleverait les contastes interessants dans la partie droite... Au contraire de Bertrand j'aime bien le care et memem dans le cas d'une cadrage plus cere j;aurra maintenir ce format.
