Photographer’s Note
Around lake Junin the ancient and impressive Great Inca road, the Capac Nan, is still visible, be it partly often submerged due to the mining industry raising the water level about 5 to 10 meters by construction of a dam and forcefully removing the native population and destroying the ancient regional capital. In the background an early colonial church used by the Spanish to rest as they traveled along the road. Today it is a peaceful and pretty site, be it little visited and knowledge has been lost for the most to those who visit. The blue's of the lake, greens, the church and the dry surrounding mountains of around 4000 masl begged to be photographed.
Hope you'll enjoy the picture.
