Photographer’s Note
Hanging around inside the public market of Jauja, Peru, I arrived close to that fruit stand, lightened directly by the sun through a window in the roof. I didn't use a flash as I wanted the fruits to be the central point.

The lighting is really good here. At firs I thought you had used a not so powerful flash, but the warm colors suggested otherwise. The picture has good TE qualities: the light and the different fruits make the picture look good and the background with scales and baskets, etc, puts it in a context.
There seems to be a little motion blur, I guess you used quite a long shutter speed?

This is what TE is all about - one could almost imagine being in Peru. You have captured the atmosphere nicely without the flash, and as you say - the fruits have come out as a definite central point. I like this.

The light is almost like a painting by Caravaggio, it was a good decision to avoid flash (but in my opinion it ususally is, flash destroys the mood).
I would like to see a little more of the dark surrounding space to really show the contrast of a brightly illuminated subject in a dark space, I guess the impact would be even greater that way, but maybe it was not possible?
There are a lot of nice details to explore and they all "belong" to the scene. Interesting photo.

Good shot, Frederic. I like the way the light is focused on the fruit, while everything else is darker. Good colours. Well framed.

The lighting and range of colour is very pleasing. The small things about market and shopping scenes often tell the most about a culture and its daily like. I like the variety of hand made baskets and wooden crates; no plastic bins and gleaming metal trays here! The place is crammed, cluttered yet somehow orderly.
