Photographer’s Note
This is a view over Huancavelica, one of Peru's poorest cities located in the central Andes.
What was interesting when we were there was how favourable people were of former authocratic president Fujimori. Fujimori installed an authocratic regime run by his right hand man Montesinos. It is unclear whether he was aware of this or not, but regardless of the corruption and his excesses, his government was successful eliminating terrorism, jumpstarting the economy and building infrastructure specially for the poor forgoten interior.
Fujimori built roads, schools and medical posts.
However his government was always opposed by trafitional politicians, and it is traditional politicians such as former presidennt Alan Garcia who have caampaigned agaisnt him. Fujimmori planned on returning to Peru to run for his years elections, but was arrrested in Chile. Peple are now voting for Ollanta, a radical, as a punishment to the politicians for takinng away their Fujimori. Opinion polls show that if Fujimori was running for office, he would get a high vote.
Now results are uncertain, it is not even known who will go to second round in yesterday's elections;
Stay tuned

Hi Daniel,
great view. The light seems to have been VERY bright, well managed though. The view is superb, I like all the detail in the roofs of the town below.

Yuri

I like the composition looking over the rooftops of the poor houses. Interesting little trio of local people too with the lady in traditional dress apparently being aided by her companion. It's a shame about the over-exposed foreground, but I understand you posting this photo to make your political point. ( I always thought Fujimori was deposed because of fraudulent activity - but then world politics is not my forte.)

your country is a fascinating place for sure Daniel, i would love to go there one day.. (even if i dont know Spanish, i've had always a great interest in latin cultures.. ( it truely fascinates me! dont know why, dont ask me, lol!)
it looks like an unpromising but an interesting elections at this time in Peru.. Even if Fujimmori used lots of undemocratical ways, and had some tyranical manners, i guess your people also praised a lot about his good-willed efforts for the country..
(this can be quite superficial observation from a foreigner like me for sure.. :) i really hope the best for your country among these abusive politicians Daniel.
Beatiful image by the way, your composition is always solid and good. foreground is a bit overexposed but somehow adds a kind of dynamism to it as well..
take care.

Hi Daniel,
A well composed shot with warm early summer hues. I like the POV, as one follows this trio walking downward. The DOF is also good, as one can see the many houses in the city beyond. Your ongoing election notes continue to contribute to our understanding. Well done.

Hi Daniel -difficult harsh light, but apart from the immediate fg is well managed, the 3 figures are ideally placed, and the football (yes to me it will always be football, not soccer) makes an interesting balance in the cityscape to the belltower.
