Photographer’s Note
This is the Sacred Valley in southern Peru, which sets in arange between Cusco to the south and Machu Picchu to the north. It is where Incan culture was born and flourished.
The village that sits in the valley is Taray.

Hi Todd,
this is a really the first view over the Sacred Valley when coming from Cusco, isn't it?...one can spot the river below with ease...all accompanied by the crop fields on the side...and the mountains leading all the way down the river stream...the village below is called Taray...we're still a few kilometers away from Pisac...i really like this place so even the image in my intro was taken there;-)...cheers, arturo

Magnificent colours and details in this well-composed image. I like the balance of human occupation and natural landscape as well as the blance of hill and valley in this capture
