These are Inca terraces, which were used for growing food.
The Incas grew lots of Quinoa, a kind of curly grain which you can use in soups - it is very good for you. If you have not tried it I can reccomend it to you - you can buy it in some health food stores.

Nicely composed photo, David.
I like the colours and the sky seems to be product of using a polariser?

Very nice landscape as the depth is given by the series of terraces starting from the right ang going down to the left. The blue of the sky looks too much saturated however and there is a dark area on the top left corner which may be due to the lens.

Excellent DOF and the textures are so vivid.
I would have liked a little more sky on this one but the foregound elements balance things out quite nicely.

I like the view. Picture quality is OK, too much contrast added, though - it seems so (I judge by the colour of the sky). Or maybe it's just 4 thousand meters and sky looks differently - let us know. Also, how did you re-touch? Tom

I'm reading a book about the Incas! I read about theses terraces, but I didn't have the image in mind! Thanks for post that!

Very nice shot. I like the way the lines lead the eye. FYI Quinoa is used for many other things than soups. I use flour made from it for breads and buy pasta made from it as well. It's an excellent wheat alternative for the gluten intolerent.
