Photographer’s Note
"Qoylluritt'i" meaning in Quechua Snow Star, is the name of the most important and massive pilgrimage in all South America. The santuary is situated at almost 5000 meters high. Everyone departs from Cuzco, in all night travel till Mayahuani, reaching there after 8 road dust hours. After reachin to Mayahuani, at the entrance of the Valley, you are ahead a Trek till the Glaciers of Sinkara and Qolquepuco. More than 100.000 people gathers there at the Santuary of the Lord of Qolluritt'y, for three days, camping under zero degrees. Incredible landscape, and a unique mixture of beliefs and faiths, mixed with the animism and devotion for the Apus, the lords of the mountains, and the devotion of the image of the Christ of Qolluritt'y.
Heavy equiped with warm clothes, me and Manuel, my guide and firend went to make that trek and Pilgrimage. We reached at 2:00 am at Mayahuani after a tortuous bus ride, and trekked all the valley till early morning, we began in the darkness, under the stars of the Andes, and reached after the sunrise, with the light of a new day.
Unique experience, and just a vision of so magnificent views in the hearth of the Andes.

Without having read your note I immediately felt that this was a place with a spirit. I would suggest that you run it through NeatImage to remove the noise in the sky. I did it and it does make the image more pure.

Marvelous point of view. Your light and exposure are just right, too, to bring out the pleasing tones of this lovely scene. The image lacks some clarity for some reason. Perhaps it just needs a tiny bit of contrast and/or sharpening? Nice work!
