These terraces were a farming arcology built by the ancient Incans. These terraces actually created multiple micro climates capable of growing corn, lintels, gourds, lucumas, quinoa, and passion fruit all in the same farm. The different levels not only had widely different humidity levels, but also varied in temperature up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. This goes to show that, in numerous ways, the native people of the Andes were more technologically advanced than the Europeans that conquered them.

An interesting picture. One can again and again only be astonished at the achievements of the Inkas and the connection between agrarian culture and holy one. The photo showed the structures of the landscape very well. Even the shade, which affects the center of the plant, has here its sense. A very beautiful and well photographed picture. Many greetings, Wolfgang

Hi, Hubert! It's almost incredible that more than five centuries ago the people of this continent had a so sophisticated way of agriculture. This pic is very interesting not only by its good technical features, but also by its documental content. Well done! Regards! Miguel.
