Photographer’s Note

Day 15 in Peru. What a weird idea to get up in the dark at 4AM, taking a quick breakfeast and to hurry to get in line for a full hour at the bus stop with hundreds of other tourists as bewildered as we were... Going back up the serpentine road comfortably seated in brand new Mercedes Bus comfy seats did not detract our attention from the menacing grey overcast. The little runup to climb the last 200m left many people puffing in our wake, but we were on the first row of the many enthusiasts hopefull for a sunrise over the Machu Picchu over the morning's mists... After an hour of waiting we were in for a treat, the archeological visit was starting very well ;)
The panorama was stitched from 5 vertical shots, a little color and saturation correction (white balance was a pain that day), and the little oversaturation was unavoidable in the fully sunlit thin clouds and the humid air.
Point of View: The tiny restaured hut

Bonsoir Bruno.

hello bruno
fantastic, mystical view on this famous place. your POV allows us to admire the perfect geometry of the layout and at the same time shows the uniqueness of the overall site. i like the light a lot with the rays performing the same function a well directed stage light would do.
my compliments

Bruno,
I love how the ray of light beating down from the right, illuminating the hill of Machu Picchu and casting long shadow. You managed the light well, not over or underexpose the light and dark. Your are so fortunate to have such a beautiful light, when I was there it was raining half of the time and cloudy the other half. Good composition and technicall all okay. Thanks.

Hi Bruno,
The classic pov were we all stand when entering this fantastic location. Just as you i waited here a very long time in the dark till finally the sun came up, but i never had such a clear sky as you got here...lucky man.
See those rays coming in from the right, hard light, very bright, but they look great and bring a fantastic mood to the whole scenery.
The overal image is a bit soft on the sharpness, but fits perfectly to the warm mood that is lying over the image...well done, great shot.
Regards, Henk
