Machu Picchu, Peru
I didn't get to do the Inca trail which was a little bit of a shame but we were just too busy partying in the touristic town Cusco. I joined some espanolas, a brazilian & a french in the hostel and we stayed in Agua Calientes overnight and decided that we didn't have money to take the bus and we would hike up to Machu Picchu instead. It was a pretty long hike from the bottom as all of us were not extremely fit. It was 6am in the morning when we began and it was very cold and rainy!! After a couple of hours of hiking & sweating, we saw all of these buses passing by...........we finally made it!!!!
I guess this is your standard kind of Machu Picchu picture, everyone just wants to take "the picture". But we really made an effort to climb all the way up there to take "the picture"!!! When we reached machu picchu we had perfect clear sky weather, it was just wonderful! Then after a while it was pouring down rain again.
Hope you enjoy this picture - one of the world's heritage sites. |

Great scenery of course... can't wait to go there.. I think you should keep going with this frame and signature which will eventually become Jelliane frame style on TE. Have a nice sunday! tibo
Hello Jellianne,
Well composed, even if it is the cliché shot it still is beautiful. Unfortunately the solarisation in the sky is very obvious; the colours in the cloud are overexposed causing those strange changes in gradient. This phenomenon is usually occurring when there is a great deal of direct light, so a polarizing filter may have been able to combat this, or touch up in post processing. Is your camera prone to these effects in the past or is it an occurrence only when resizing? Interesting that the remainder of the photo appears in good clarity. My smaller pocket camera, the Pentax Optio S4i occasionally did this in extreme lighting circumstances. I will have to read more about it.
Matt
excelent colour and framing.

Hello Jellianne,
Very interesting picture indeed.
I had noticed the problem of colour in the sky as well and have just understood it thanks to Matthew's critic.

Classic. Nice comp and colours. Good detail in the stones. Regards, TW
