Photographer’s Note
Due to the five hours it takes to go from Cusco to Machu Picchu, many tourist opt to arrive there at evening; to spend the night at Machu Picchu town (a.k.a. "Aguas Calientes", the town that blossomed as a result of the tourism); and then to go up the mountain in the morning just to see the citadel from the very sunrise. Tourists are expected by the local population, and many people gathers at the railway in order to offer their services. This image is of some of the last passengers that leaved the train.

Good shot! I like the way you've managed to blur the people whilst keeping the surroundings sharp. Your exposure is excellent too - just enough shadow detail! The only criticism I can make is that the light above the train is slightly strong, perhaps it can be cropped? Anyway a very nice first post and an interesting note too. Well captured :-D
P.S. Welcome to TrekEarth!

This is a great shot. It shows clearly what was happening. It is very dificult to get the lighting and the clarity that you did - nice work. I actually think that the bright light above the train adds to the picture as that is how flood lights appear. I would not do anything to it.

This sums up the situation very well - the tired looking passenger, group of local people on the left waiting in anticipation, clouds of smoke or steam giving the impression of cold, late night. Very evocative.
Welcome, and Happy New Year.
