Série sobre minha Viagem ao PERU - América do Sul - UMA VISTA CLÁSSICA DA CIDADE PERDIDA DOS INCAS - MACHU PICCHU - De 06 a 22 de Setembro de 2007 - nº 040 !
(Series on my Trip to PERU - South America - A CLASSICAL VIEW OF THE INCA LOST CITY - MACHU PICCHU - From September 6th to 22nd, 2007 - # 040!)
MACHU PICCHU - UMA VISTA CLÁSSICA, MAS SEMPRE INESQUECÍVEL!
MACHU PICCHU - A CLASSICAL VIEW, BUT ALWAYS UNFORGETTABLE!
MACHU PICCHU - UNE VUE CLASSIQUE, MAIS TOUJOURS INOUBLIABLE!
MACHU PICCHU - UNA VISTA CLASSICA, PERO SIEMPRE INOLVIDABLE!
Although this view has been overly photographed (many might say that!), to celebrate my 40th post from Peru here at TE, I decided that this would be the one! It's classical, but, in my opinion, never enough seeing or being reminded how magnificent that place is! Unless you visit it, pictures can impress you, but being there is much more interesting and thrilling!
FOR THOSE WHO DOUBT IT, IN MY WS I EVEN INVERTED THE POSITION OF THIS SAME PICTURE (VERTICAL FORMAT), SO YOU COULD ALL SEE THAT THE "FACE" REALLY EXISTS AND IT'S QUITE INTERESTING, FASCINATING AND INTRIGUING!

Hello Ney,
I like this composition, which makes good use of the strong graphical elements in the foreground to act as lead lines towards that world famous peak. Also, the pleasant light and natural looking colours. Good sharpness as well.

Bonjour Neyvan
c'est vrai que le Machu Picchu est un classique mais ce décor est d'une beauté que je ne me lasse pas de regarder, surtout quand la photo est magnifique comme celle-ci. Bravo.

Hi, Ney,
Classic yes!
Clearly, it is shot so many times because it is such a special scene, both aesthetically and historically.
Your execution is excellent. The composition is strong, with a visually compelling foreground (the ruins), dramatic midfield (the sharp "nose") and the bright background (clouds and distant mountains) arrayed nicely in a diagonal across the frame.
The colors are attractive and the image is sharp.
Light management must be a challenge here because of the strong contrasts and high elevation (= extra UV). Did you use any filters? I'm guessing that a UV filter would help reduce the blueness of the background. A polarizing filter might also help sharpen the distant part of the scene.
Compliments!

Hello Ney,
really a classical view of this enchanted place! And a one we always enjoy to see. And you are right it's quite impressing and magnificent. Apart from the face (quite evident in the ws) the mountain peak and the ruins themselves are so intriguing and evocative.
Your composition is very well balanced and very clear. I like the textures of the stonewalls and those green lawns in between them.
A very good work.
TFS,
Donato

Amicalement,
Magali

Hello Neyvan,
I consider this point of view excellent: it shows the ancient city and the mountains surrounding it... and what is more, there's that lovely transition of colours from warm FG to very cold hazy BG. Very good sense of depth! I like it very much. And I wonder if I will ever see it in reality... most probably not! :(
Warm greetings from autumnal cold Moscow,
Elena
