(Series on my Trip to PERU - South America - The MACHU PICCHU Ruins seen from the INTIPUNKU - From September 6th to 22nd, 2007 - # 021 !)
INTIPUNKU II - SUN GATE II - PORTAL DO SOL II - PUERTA DEL SOL II - It's the end of the Inca Trail, where the tourists and visitors have the first sight of MACHU PICCHU! I did the opposite way, I was in Machu Picchu and walked up to the INTIPUNKU, having a pretty different view from the ruins. With the local vegetation as a framing, the background is filled with the ruins, the surrounding mountains and even the winding road that we use to get up there from Aguas Calientes.
WS version:
A rectangular version, with a broader view of the same place.

Hi Ney
A superb high pov, overlooking Machu Pichu, with the fg trees framing the scene nicely, & providing depth, layering, & graphism. Good sharpness, and tfs!

What a gorgeous, unusual POV of these wonderful ruins. I visited Machu Picchu a few years ago but wasn't able to get a permit to hike on the Inca trail.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Neyvan,
What a fine viewpoint, where the f/g vegetation anchors us on the hillside and provides wonderful perspective down the hilside to the spectacular ruins.
My nephew and his wife are going to Peru and Machu Picchu next month. For them, it will be the journey of a lifetime! I will look forward to seeing their photographs.
Have a great Sunday,
Bev :-)

Neyvan,
