Photographer’s Note

I have opened my drawer amd scanner lately so as my 400th post I can show Machu Picchu. This is for me the most fascinating place in the world, real wonder (one of the Seven Wonders). I have been dreaming of going there for forty years. It seemed to me that it would be impossible for me to go there, too difficult. And once I read it is quite easy. You can be there in three days. One day - flight to Lima. From Warsaw you can go from the airport in the morning and in the evening you are in Lima. The second lazy day - flight to Cusco. Then third day some hours by train to Aguas Calientes, the bus - and here you are! Maybe too easy and too many tourists. Some years ago there were plans to build the cableway but luckily this Fujimori's project was abandoned.

The problem is that when you are there finally at first you admire speechless the beauty, then you make (a lot of) photos. But what to show? There are more than 300 photos on TE, almost every corner. It is very difficult to find something new. Maybe you'll like this photo with typical South American flowers - Machu Picchu lies in a jungle.

This is an old photo - I was there almost ten years ago. Scanned.
