Photographer’s Note
Well this is almost identical to a previous post I made a few years ago that was very popular. It is not the same shot. This is an hdr composite of the bracket shot taken a few seconds after this one. This is a true hdr, not a hdr enhanced 0 EV image. This is definately more hdr effect than I usually like on my own work, but it works here.
This is one of almost two dozens shots taken in the middle of a thunderstorm on Machu Picchu. WHen the sun came out along with the rainbow i went running to get as many shots of them as possible. I got quite soaked as I recall. Definately a magickal moment.

Hi Hubert
Well worth getting wet I would say. The view is stunning. I like the inclusion of the tree on the left as it helps to add scale. The textures are wonderful and the rainbow is indeed magical.

your HDR version is interesting to make pop out the far away blue area in the top
but for the rainbow and the stones, it is quite overdone
i suggest a PP between the two versions
BTW very nice shot, you were lucky to be on this magic place and be able to see this magic moment ^^

Hello Hubert,
This is one of the most beautiful pictures of Machu Picchu I've ever seen.
The light on the ruins is very beautiful and I also like the textures very much. The colours of the rainbow are splendid against that background of dark mountain slopes.
Well done,
best regards, Paul

Hello Hubert, A spectacular scene. I think your boosting of the colours is justified with this subject - the visual impact of the rainbow against the dark background must have been very strong. The light and superb POV add to the splendour.
Best wishes....Maggie

Hello Hubert,
You have performed a great work here. Without the note, I would have not noticed it was a hdr. Usually the effect is too much visible, but here it works well.
I can imagine it was a magical moment. It is shared by the photo.
Yves.

Indeed, quite the magical moment you got there, you have to get as much as possible from those in the rare instances they present themselves :D
You were in march though, so the rainy season made the storms more than likely, it's the sunny break you were lucky to have! :D
Great use of the HDR indeed, and very good composition to get an exceptionally colorful image.
