Photographer’s Note

“Buenos Dias, migos!” this Quechuan boy would tap on our tent every morning to wake us up, during our trek in Lares Valley in Peru. He would helped packed our camping stuff and loaded them on the horses and went ahead to our next destination and set up tents before we get there. That’s how he earns extra income off the farming season as a porter and helper of the cook for tourists. He go back to his village to do farm work when there is no tourists.

This is what he wear everyday that beautiful and colorful hat and a poncho in the morning or night when it was cold.

Congratulations Way, this portret is perfect, very nice.
The expression and the glance of the man are very well colected, a very good framing too, colours and contrast. A very good photowork.

Olá Way, are you doing a series "Portraits of the world" ? :) This is a very nice one. A sweet face looking somewhere out of the picture, maybe dreaming with a better life, we could think...Technically, it seems perfect to my eyes and it's fun to observe the colorful details of his hat and blue collar - he didn't pose for you and that makes a more authentic portrait.

Hi Way,
He is not looking towards you, but that doesn't bother me that much. His face expression is very peaceful, seems an honest and hard working man. That hat he is wearing is priceless, looks great. Your colour handling here is queit soft, but also that suits the picture very well, i like that.

Hi Way!

The velvet look, and his cute face lightly freckled is what attracts me the most in this lovely portrait. But the colorful decorated hat is interesting too. And, by one immediate idea association, it made me think to scalerman's Gyarong in Tagong I think they match well together!... What do you think?!

Very nice portrait of Quechuan boy. It must have been fantastic to hike in Cusco valley. I love Quechuan hats.
And the people in Peru are so kind, nice, like your guide.

Great portrait but sadness in the eyes for this man; Life for Quechuan people is npt very easy. I never been in Peru but I had contact in Bolivia. The same poour life.
