Photographer’s Note
This was taken during the same trek in Lares Valley in Peru as one of previous post, also see workshop for another shot.
Nope, we were not the early people arriving at the camp site first. We were the only two. Actually this is not even a camp site. There was none, you just pick a spot to rest for the night. That’s how remote it is.
Lares Valley Trek: For those wanting to experience the incredible beauty and rich culture of the Andes by taking the less-traveled route. Authentic encounters with Quechua communities and the spectacular scenery that surrounds them give these treks a wonderful blend of tradition and splendor.
Passing through the rich pastoral regions of the Cordillera Urubamba, we traverse high mountain peaks and sub-tropical valleys, stopping along the way to enjoy scenic lagoons, natural hot springs, and Inca remains. The remoteness of the area has allowed its people to preserve traditions of llama and alpaca herding, potato cultivation, and colorful weaving dating back to the Incas. These fascinating treks offer a first-hand look at the life of the Andean farmer and a journey into a region of outstanding beauty.

Hi Way,
you've done a good job scanning this film and the quality is very good. The scenario is just beautiful, very atmospheric and evocative and the 2 tents with the few horses grazing perfectly gives the idea of what you said in your note. The small lake I think played its important role in the compo as it can be used to stop for a while and enjoying the majesty of the mountains in the bg. You've lost a bit of details in the sky but that doesn't bother me at all. Great view, great job.
Thanks for sharing it.
Regards,
Igor

Hi Way, Wow, wonderful Andean landscape. Splendid view of the high mountains. Nice photo of the trekking. Were the horses used to carry the camping gear? It is a pity there are no Quechua people in their colourful dresses. It was for sure fantastic experience. I was in Cusco region some years ago but I had not enough time to visit remote places. Warm regards

Hello Way
This is a tough trek is Lares, this is the one I did as the Inca trail is closed in Feb for works. Very good quality scan, I like to see scans once in a while, you have done very well with the lighting with the scale of the place shown by the tents and horses. The mood looks awesome, well done and thanks for bringing back my Peru memories.
Cheers

Hello Way,
First of all excellent quality for a scanned picture.
This landscape makes us breathe quietness and peace. The horses around are beautiful and I like the ray of light at the top of the mountains behind.
Must be a wonderful place to go...
Have a nice day.
Best regards, Christian

Hi Way,
To start with this is a quality scan of a good quality photo. I admire your luxury in traveling to so many places bringing back numerous splendid photos to TE for us all. The photo does convey an impression of its remoteness where the only sign of life are the two tents and a few Llamas(or horses?) By the way, do the llamas came with you or they were there grazing before you came?

Hi Way, This is the sort of photo i was attracted to join TE in the first place, to see sights otherwise never to be seen. It could also be called Lost Valley by the look of this remoteness. Good composition and colours. Interesting notes.
The WS is very good too, it is as if mankind was not on the same planet! TFS. Murray.
