He was taking a rest, probably as curious about us then we about him. It is possible to see the work of the sun on his burned out face as is the case at this high altitude.

About the image.I shoot from a low vantage point and the misty sky serves as a background.

Il prenait un repos,probablement aussi curieux de nous que nous de lui.Sur son visage buriné, se lit le travail du soleil, qui est très fort à cet altitude.

Pour cette photo, je suis en contre-plongé, et le ciel gris sert d'arrière-plan.

ce Péruvien semble être très pensif, il est, comme on dit dans sa bulle, son expression n'est ni joyeuse ni triste, belle photo de cet homme.

P.S. merci pour ta note sur mon cliché d'aujourd'hui, mais j'ignore si je vais pouvoir faire mieux la prochaine fois, car les conditions géographique de cet endroit sont assez particulier, déjà que j'ai enfoncé dans la neige jusqu'en en me mouillé les pieds. Regardes celle de demain et donne moi ton appréciation.

Hey, Cam...
been a long time! I like this portrait. I like the color and contrast, the texture. The detail - even in shadowed areas. Nice contrast in the warm colors of the hat and skin and the turquoise rain cover. I like the BG, too. The only thing I might question is the man's lower lip. I don't understand that. Just looks a bit odd to me. Still a great shot. Many thanks and all best wishes for the new year,

Hi Charles,

A strong portrait with a great facial expression. It's cold and wet and that shows. No need for a sunny smiling image here. Life is hard, he has to work hard for some Sol.
You caught the right essence here...and how i love that hat...great..!!!

Not the best quality shot, but the portrait is really compelling and depict a hard life, I have been up there and I have witness such hardship. On our hike though some passes, it started to rain and than snow, I was so cold and need two jacket and a rain jacket from North Face, the have just a poncho and this blue plastic to keep warm and dry. Excellent capture with keen sensitivity and compassion.
