Photographer’s Note
In 1992, when this photo was taken, tourists were still allowed to hike the Inca Trail on their own, which is what I did with a few companions, camping out where we wanted to and spending the last night with our tent pitched right above the ruins of Machu Picchu. In this photo you can see the Urubamba River winding through the mountains down below the trail. A very dramatic landscape, needless to say.

Hi Hugh
This is a great photo showing a dramatic landscape.
The human interaction with the landscpe brings it to life.
Cheers Anthony

Hola Hugh
Saludos, Paula.

Hey Hugh!
A magnificent shot you got here, the scenery is just outstanding, and just to think, you could do it all by yourself without all the hassle of the Peruvian government...
This is a good spontaneous shot, with good composition of 1/3 FG and the rest BG - it is very impressive!
I would have cloned/crop that backpack side on the right side. It is quite a shame the colors got skewed, so I prepared a WS - hope you like it!
