Photographer’s Note

Wiñay Wayna is the archeological site that you reach on the Inca trail the day before you arrive at Machu Picchu - there are more sites before this, and they get better and better until you arrive at the big one.
Nobody knows what the Inca used to do here, everything is speculation as, weirdly, they appear to have had no form of writing. There are some (ceremonial?) baths here, and it makes a good spot to stop and enjoy the view.

Interesting shapes there ! Must have been lot of work and time to do that all. But according your notes, it is not known so much. You have that mountain slope nicely in diagonal position.That white construction could have been not so centralized in my mind - but maybe I say it for the reason, that I should not be allways so positive :). I like the 2 different areas of color and texture, one slope wild and the other completely reshaped with terracing and construction. Very interesting and beautiful.

Hi David,
By this stage of the trail, my knees were killing me. It wasn't the going up...but the going down that was hard! This is a great capture of this place, your perspective is quite something, I don't remember it being so steep (although that would explain my knees!)

David, this is a good shot. I like how the terraces all lead into one spot. This helps the eye flow naturally through the photo.
