Walking around the streets of Cusco, I happened to notice these young boys trying their hardest to get inside the door. Was it their home? was it a friends home?
They tried and tried but couldn't get in. As I was taking this shot, I couldn't help but think of our friends Gert and Claude :)
Have a great day everyone!

On dirait bien qu'ils sont en train de jouer à la cachette derrière cette porte. Les enfants peuvent jouer sans jouets même dans les environnements les plus pauvres. Il y aurait une leçon à prendre. J'aime la texture de ce mur de pierres.

There is a piece of drama into the snap, so in your note. The background colour is creating the ambience, where the booys are spark of life, trying to enter into a grey wall.
Thank you very much for sharing

Your keen perspective lets you qualify for a news reporter. You travel, not only see the beauty of landscape, but also are into the local life. It's great!

Are they pushing or are they hiding as Serge suggests. Anyway, it is a good daily life capture much enhanced by that lovely textured wall.

Beside the story of these two boys, I like the texture of the old wall and of the door. Unexpected shots always make good image.

Great scene, the light and texture of the walls really make it, as does the composition. You can see the effort in their faces too, a lot of energy being expended here!

It's nice to know that you send me a thought now and then, although it doesn't happen very often ;-).
I was quite surprised to see this shot. I wonder what they're doing. Maybe trying to learn the old craft of burglary?
Whatever this shows I like the intensity of their body language. I also love the wall and the door. Do you have any idea if the lower part is an original Inca wall?

Very funny shot! At the right moment to see them in action..I wonder if they straightened out that wall :P
Great catch, have a nice day.

Raading your note changed my perception of this shot. At first look I presumed the little boy on the right was pushing the wall trying to straighten up the stone door frame! Good luck to him... if he pulls it off I expect to see him in the world's strongest man comp!

Kia ora Craig,
Photos of doors are always interesting & this is know exception. One does wonder what was so important beyond that doors. Cheers, Neil

Haha, what a great moment you caught....are these two up to no good, or simply trying to reach a friend or relative as your note would suggest? No matter the reason, it leaves something to the imagination, which I think is what makes a relatively simple scene like this so endearing.
On top of that, the light here is fantastic...being a early riser really pays dividends when it comes to creating atmosphere and the visual that we can all relate to at the beginning of each day.
Love the texture in this shot, from both the stone exterior and wooden door...and while I'm at it, even the denim from their pants. :)
Great grab! Have a great weekend ahead.
Cheers from Arizona,

Amazing capture with those two kids full in their element!
Very good layout.
A capture in color but the overall taste is that of a monochrome.
TFS and have a nice weekend

Hi Craig, haha, funny scene from Cusco. it looks as the boy on the right is ringing the bell, the other trying open the door. Hopefully it is their home and they finally got inside. Quechua boys in jeans. But I am more interested in this beautiful house. it looks like old, and maybe in the lower part the Inka wall is used.

Maybe young criminals on looking to food or money.
She be very busy with the door that she not see the photographer.
Therefore wonderful for look at.
Excellent composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

magnificent street photo!I love stones, but I know even if they ubiquitous here, tey just the backdrop for these boys and the intriguing story what´s behind the door?
The second thing I enjoy so much is the combination of so lovely light, colors and graphical effect you achieved(you were able to bring out perfectly all textures of the wall)
Have a nice weekend

I was a while that I visited your gallery and there are many beautiful shots, I do not have too much time lately for photography unfortunately, this is something different from your usual style, I like it very, minimal composition well performed, the stone wall provides an excellent background and its shades are nice, the light was great and the kids playing are always a great theme, excellent sharpness and framing...love it...

Interesting scene you stumbled upon. It seems that there is some kind of bell or intercom, (which might have helped!!), but maybe it wasn't working. :-) There are old stones everywhere, and they are great. A nice slice of daily life in Cusco, with a bit of mystery surrounding it. :-)

What a delightful shot of these boys. It is made even better by the range of brown tones and textures in the old wall. This must have been a fantastic trip.
Best wishes, Ann

For once what I like the more is not the boys in action but the stones on the street and wall, these last ones seems to be very old and well carved not to fall, old inca way to built
Good composition, taken at the right moment
