AGUAS CALIENTES VISTA DA MONTANHA PUTUKUSI - AGUAS CALIENTES SEEN FROM THE PUTUKUSI MOUNTAIN - The day I arrived at Aguas Calientes, after traveling by train in the morning from Cusco, I had the whole afternoon to do some other activity around, before going to Machu Picchu in the next day! In Cusco, the travel agent had given me the hint that the trail up to the Putukusi Mountain had been reopened and I decided to go up there! It was sort of hard, but it was worth it all the way! This was one of the views I had during the climbing, in which one can see the town of Aguas Calientes, down there, as if one was flying over it!

This picture was searched by the National Geographic Staff in order to be published in one of their local maps, in Peru! Unfortunately, negotiation didn't go forward until the end among the members of the staff, but I was quie well treated by them!

I totally agree with kristaps: the photo gives a very plastic impression of the strenuous but wonderful hike, congrats!

By the way, just thinking of getting me a Nikon D80 or rather the new D90. Some people complain about exposure problems with the D80: a real problem or just a myth in your experience with the camera?

Hi Neyvan,
The view is well worth the hike, it is spectacular. Good POV, including the band of sunlight must have created a bit of a challenge exposure wise but you've ended up with a very good image.

Há algo de interessante nesta foto, e é a combinação de luz e sombra, de uma grande sorte, porque a profundidade de campo, capturando uma bela perspectiva.

Uma interessante paisagem aninhado entre as montanhas verdes.

Hi Neyvan, Indeed, breathtaking view of Aguas Calientes! Impressive view of the high mountains surrounding it.and a small piece of Urubamba below. I can imagine it was quite an effort to do hiking there. Haven't you tried to do all Inka trail? Nice light and shades.

This is a most impressive view, an elevated point of view if I ever saw one!
Interesting to see how they built the town in the narrow valley, using every square m of level land they could find...

Hi Neyvan!

Having been there myself I have to say this a very original picture of Aguas Calientes - really giving a great impression of how the town has been almost squeezed in between the surrounding mountains!
I like the light as well - however I am not too sure about the green colours - they seem a bit yellowish for me - maybe it was the light or season, but they seemed darker in "real life"...?
In any case very nice composition and great POV!

qué vista más profunda, que da una sensación de vértigo por la altura de tu POV sobre el valle.
Buen formato vertical para dar esta sensación, y gran trabajo con la luz y los colores.
El sol y las sombras sobre las montañas añade un efecto magnífico.

I love the colors and POV of this one, the slight overexposure is very easily overlooked with those great sunset colors ;)
It really shows how the little city is compressed between those towering cliffs.

Wow, grandes fotos que tens postado, Nevyan. Esta vista é absolutamente espectacular e original também, pois acho que nunca tinha visto este PDV antes. Mas reconheço bem os penhascos lindíssimos de Machu Pichu. Muito bem enquadrada e com uma luz muito bonita. Fabuloso ver Águas Calientes lá em baixo. Parabéns.

An amazing view at Aguas Calientes!!!!I can nearly see the guesthouse where i stayed.Great POV and an excellent composition with these plants in the foreground and the the stripe of sunshine.

though it seems to me a bit oversaturated by post processing the whole landscape is so incredible that I can take these colours for realistic here. Despite the beautiful mounts I don't envy the people living there without sunshine most time of the day.
