Photographer's Note

Machu Picchu was built in the classical Inca style, with polished dry-stone walls. Its three primary structures are the Intihuatana (Hitching post of the Sun), the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows. These are located in what is known by archaeologists as the Sacred District of Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu was built around 1450, at the height of the Inca Empire. The construction of Machu Picchu appears to date from the period of the two great Incas, Pachacutec Inca Yupanqui (1438-71) and Tupac Inca Yupanqui (1472-93). It was abandoned just over 100 years later, in 1572, as a belated result of the Spanish Conquest.It is possible that most of its inhabitants died from smallpox introduced by travelers before the Spanish conquistadors arrived in the area. The latter had notes of a place called Piccho, although there is no record of the Spanish having visited the remote city. The types of sacred rocks defaced by the conquistadors in other locations are untouched at Machu Picchu.

Hi Eleni,
I love this shot of Inca civilization. Even today it's very hard to believe that such a great civilization is there in such a mountain.
This picture is completely perfect.

Πρώτων από όλα μπράβο είσαι από τις λίγες Ελληνίδες που έχεις επισκεφτεί αυτό το μέρος και σε θαυμάζω. Θα ήθελα παρά πολύ να ταξιδέψω εκεί. Πιστεύω το συναίσθημα όταν πρώτο αντίκρισες το τοπίο να ήταν απίστευτο?
Η εικόνα είναι από μόνη της υπέροχη. Τι αλλό μπορώ να πω.

Une merveilleux endroit que j'aimerais bien visiter bien présenté dans une excellente qualité d'image. Bel éclairage entre ombre et lumière et excellente perspective avec le montagnes qui s'estompent derrière. Une photo intéressante et bon rendu des couleurs.

Ελένη γεια σου,
τελικά είχα δίκιο που σου έγραψα χθες ότι εγώ θα συμπεριελάμβανα την κορυφή του βουνού και ας έχανα λίγη από την μαγεία των ερειπίων.
Απ΄ότι βλέπω η φωτογραφία είναι ολοκληρωμένη και δεν έχασε το παραμικρό από το κυρίως θέμα σου που είναι τα ερείπια της πόλης.
Εξαιρετική με όλη τη σημασία της λέξης.

Most travelers to this unique location encounter with clouds and/or mist cover, or just rain. You had been there in a perfect day for photography.

Καλή σου μέρα, Ελένη!

Έχω δει πάμπολλες φορές φωτογραφίες αυτού του μέρους, όχι όμως τραβηγμένες από χέρι Ελληνικό.
Όποτε η σύζυγός μου βλέπει εικόνες από εκεί το πρώτο πράγμα που λέει είναι ότι θέλει κάποτε να πάει!
Εύχομαι να το κάνει, έτσι θα «ωφεληθώ» κι εγώ πηγαίνοντας μαζί της!
