Photographer's Note
Machu Picchu ("Old Peak") is a pre-Columbian 15th-century Inca site located 2,430 metres (7,970 ft) above sea level. Machu Picchu is located in the Cusco Region of Peru,South America. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, which is 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Cusco and through which the Urubamba River flows. Most archaeologists believe that Machu Picchu was built as an estate for the Inca emperor Pachacuti (1438–1472). Often referred to as the "City of the Incas", it is perhaps the most familiar icon of the Inca World.
The Incas started building the "estate" around 1400, but abandoned it as an official site for the Inca rulers a century later at the time of the Spanish Conquest. Although known locally, it was unknown to the outside world before being brought to international attention in 1911 by the American historian Hiram Bingham. Since then, Machu Picchu has become an important tourist attraction. Most of the outlying buildings have been reconstructed in order to give tourists a better idea of what the structures originally looked like. By 1976, thirty percent of Machu Picchu had been restored. The restoration work continues to this day.
My pictures looks like the top is missing but I tried to give emphasis to the ruins more than the majestic mountains.

Hi Eleni !
A stunning view, beauty, colour, and sharpness wise. I only would move your lens a bit more "north" in order to show the entire mountain and some of the background. I understand you didn't want to miss out the stone structures at the bottom, sometimes it's hard to make a choice due to the unique position of an area. Still it's a great pleasure to look at this amazing mountain formation. Thanks for sharing !

Kalispera Eleni,
I like the series a lot - the place is overwhelming.
Just the tight crop, doe's some damage to the scenery. Yet, it concetrate the view on the old ruins.
Have a nice friday evening,
Ike
*** Just red an article about the island of Ikaria in Greece, 45km from Turkey - people there live longer than 100... drink the local natural herb-tea...

Hello Elini,
I saw your other pictures of this surrounding and
it's smart that you cut up the picture for two
reasons:
- the sky wasn't beautiful, so now you emphasize
extra the landscape
- you creates a nice wide (panorama) picture.
Composition and light management are good.
Friendly regards,
Robert
