Photographer’s Note
Most buildings of the small town of Maca, up in the Peruvian Andes near the Colca Canyon, were destroyed by an earthquake in July 1991. Twenty people were killed.
This is scan of a shot taken four years later, in 1995.
The town in ruins was deserted but I suddenly heard a melancholic tune, which I followed, so I found these three local men.

hello Daniel,
THe special colours of the scan add a lot to the atmosphere. there is a kind of sadness here ... (and that's very understandable !!! )

this is a precious document of historical value...dated 1995, some te-members had their primary school lessons then...:-)))
quite a view - a group of men "separated" from debris by that instrument being a sort of contradictory to the ruins, but on the other hand, with those at-ease poses and colourful clothes it is obvious that they are a part of the place, that they belon to what used to be their homes (and perhaps still is?)...
