Hello!, this months National Geographic (March 2011)has an article on Peruvian Munmmies and Macchu Pichu. Your photo has captured an interesting view of ancient life. Your point of view is that of a snapshot because it includes the car in the background. For a more dramatic effect, moving the point of view to the right a bit to exclude the car would have made a deeper senseof time in history. It is only my opinion though.

Hello Philippe,

I agree entirely with Karen: this picture (and a dramatic one at that) deserves a lot more of a note and description than that which you have thus far given us. I have read about these mummies unearthed in Peru and would dearly like to read more about them but your picture and its attached and very abbreviated note give us precious little information about them.

What were you doing in this part of Peru in 1982? Were you there as an archaelogist, anthropologist or just a tourist? And how did you come upon this place?

This could be a very interesting and engaging photograph if we had more information: otherwise, it is just macabre and unseemly. Let us know more details and we shall be more than happy to comment further on it.

Bonjour Philippe,

C'est une photo étonnante mais intéressante, même si j'imagine que ces momies ont été placées ainsi volontairement (bien qu'elles aient été trouvées dans le coin). Comme pour les autres critiques, je regrette la présence de la voiture dans le cadre car elle casse un peu l'atmosphère de la photo.
La numérisation est de très bonne qualité, avec juste un peu de bruit dans le ciel.
