O VULCÃO "EL MISTI"!
THE VOLCANO "EL MISTI"!

After staying a couple of days in PUNO, by the TITICACA LAKE, I took a bus down to AREQUIPA. The whole trip was sort of interesting, with lots of mountains, lakes, but pretty desert, arid and poor! The city of AREQUIPA is the second largest in PERU and is totally surrounded by volcanic terrain (that means, a desert!). It's known as "LA CIUDAD BLANCA/A CIDADE BRANCA/THE WHITE CITY" because many of its downtown historical buildings are white (due to the way they were built, with "sillar" a white volcanic rock). The most impressive volcano that overlooks the city is the "EL MISTI" and before it got totally dark, I took this picture of it, while walking across a bridge.

What an impressive view!
The contrast between thise magnificent slopes of the volcano and the busy city couldn't be bigger. I like especially the play of sunlight in the slopes... A photo to marvel ...

Hello Ney,
Very interesting contrast between the busy city and the haze shrouded volcano in the background, both in terms of subject and tonal contrasts. I find the foreground tones a little over-saturated but that just me. Thanks for sharing.

interessante la vista di questo vulcano che sovrasta sulla città sottostante.
Il POV è davvero molto bello, ma la foto manca di sharp!

Ti ho fatto un WS dove aumento lo sharp e controllo un pò le luci.

Ci tengo a sapere cosa ne pensi!

Très belle iamge, ce bâtiment tout en douceur, avec la colline en fond, superbe ensemble et vue, il n'y a pas de végétation du tout sur la colline, c'est otu sec, superbe image, très contrastée entre les deux plan.

vi a primeira imagem deste vulcão num livro dos anos 70, coberto de neve, e fiquei decepcionado ao v~e-lo assim, sem neve. um taxista me disse que só poderia vê-lo assim em alguns dias do inverno, aquecimento global é o nome do negócio.. lembro do aviso de fuga atrás da porta do meu quarto, dando instruções de como fugir quando o misti explodir novamente..dizem que vai a cidade inteira pelos ares..
linda vista, ótima luz baixa, meu único senão é que eu teria dado mais um pouco de céu na imagem

What an amazing view of the small town existing in the shadow of the dominant volcano "EL MISTI". The town doesn't look to be very old going by the architecture. You photographed this place in very good light, which lights the town in a golden glow
