Photographer’s Note
Los ojos de una niña de la etnia ashaninka reflejan la esperanza de los pueblos amazónicos por que se respeten sus derechos. Varias de las fotografías de la zona de Breu y el Yurúa fueron tomadas durante una investigación financiada por la WWF- Programa Perú, para justificar la creación de la Reserva Comunal del Yurúa, la cual garantizará que los bosques y sus recursos pertenecen a sus comunidades nativas.
El color rojo de la piel, se debe a un tinte natural proveniente de un fruto llamado “ashiote” que es usado como distintivo de la etnia.
