Photographer’s Note
There is not a single element of human presence on Earth more important to photography than...
THE FACE !
All of them !
The only other element that can be compared to the human faces is: The snow flake.
Billions of them and no two of them alike !
G.G.
........................
You give me the face, brothers and sister and, I'll give you the nation !
Breathlessly searching for the faces…
Some decades ago someone sung ( Louis Armstrong - as long as I know):
Give me a kiss to build my dream on….
And my imagination will thrive upon that kiss…
?????????????
Well… I wouldn't ask for a kiss from that dude in a million years, but - I'd ask for his face !
And, my imagination will thrive just upon it…
Is that how the legendary Quechuas people ( Inkas) looked like ?
That face… That head… The nose… The skin… The hair...
It could be Atahualpa himself in my wild imagination !
I see them running the wilderness of Andean jungles, fighting pumas and making an 'eye contact' to the lamas and alpacas.
So, I have asked for his kiss… errr.. his face and I got his face and I'm giving you, the good people of TE - his face…

Witaj,
Pozdrawiam

The face is indeed very impressive but I don't understand this square of light ; OTOH, what I see in the square impresses me so much, a bit in the fashion of the portraits of the Renaissance, that I forgive you to puzzle me about the strange presentation.
And I feel as puzzled as Sayeed, but fascinated by his somewhat sarcastic glance at me.
Bravo !
Katarzyna
(PS : found again this painting (the 3rd one) on the web, but the original is a million times better of course - worked a full summer in Cefalů where I came regularly to pay him a visit in the museum : he has a bit the same glance, don't you think so ?)

George, I remember that post from the days before...and I remember how much I disliked that square...As if you did not know if you should crop or no.
Well, indeed, he has a hell of a face, very interesting expression. his eyes and traits say a lot!
but why did you do that?

This man likes himself!
I am sure he even likes himself more than I like myself!!
And that is a sickening lot of liking yourself I can tell you ;-).
