Photographer’s Note

While in the rain forest on the Napo river we took a boat to a little side area known as a black river. The water is so dark it's almost black, being so dark it makes almost perfect reflections. It was like gliding along a mirror.
The area is a seasonly flooded part of the forest, so part of the year it's not a water way, but we were there during the flooded time. What makes the water black are the decomposing leaves.
