Photographer’s Note

Of course I'm being a bit whimsical with the title. These chickens weren't waiting at a bus stop, but it sure looked like it.

My fellow trekkers and I were strolling through the Amazon village of San Juan de Yanayacu (about 140 km west of Iquitos), looking at the jewelry the village residents had made to sell to tourists. One of them noticed all these chickens resting on the bench. We all got a good chuckle out of it. I couldn't pass up such a photo.

Hi Todd,

Love this! The ideia of a bus stop is great and catch one,s attention. The chicken really seem to be waiting for someting or ,talking together... The green on the background is very nice. Creative and funny!

A wonderful photo in every way. The bench itself, drowning in greenery, is already picturesque. The chickens themselves display an amazing array of colors, the details are so crisp, and I'm still smiling/laughing after admiring the photo for several minutes. Thanks for sharing!
