Photographer’s Note

On going to Peru, I saw a bond between many people. The children the most. I've met so many families and they welcomed me to their homes. They have so little but offer and give you all that they have. I remember walking in along the trashed street of one of chiclayo's poor towns, a young girl randomly runs up to me and hands me a small purse. I did not understand spanish at the time, but we both felt a bond on that exchange. These two young boys always followed me around and always played soccer together. It saddens me that their soccer field is just a dusty pavement.. and they can't even afford to buy shoes. But looking the eyes of these young boys, they were raised well and never asked anything from me but my friendship and many games of football. Ronald, the boy in the green had the greatest smile. AFter a game, i bought all of them snacks, these children are small, but have a grand heart... oh and big tummy for Peru's INCA KOLA. =)
