Photographer’s Note
Early on in my ten week stay in Huamachuco, my supervisor (who, along with his wife, is a very well respected archaeologist who has been working in the Huamachuco area for nearly three decades and is often consulted by local people when they want to do something with an archaeological site) and I went to visit an archaeological site a little outside of town, as a group wanted to protect the hilltop site. Two ladies in traditional clothing (what looked more like formal or the best clothing) came up to the site for a while, and I thought that them overlooking the absolutely amazing scenery in every direction, having a quiet chat, made for a neat (though not artistically spectacular) photo...
