Photographer’s Note
This past my group and I took a trip to a mountain village 30 minutes by bus (if the police dont stop you for having a bus overflowing) and 30 minute walk up the side of a mountain from Huanuco. We stayed with a local family who lived about ten minutes hike across cliff faces and mountain views from the village of Salapampa. In the town there is no running water and no electricity but life is great. I really enjoyed living with the basics and would like to return for a month or two. Everyone we met seemed so happy without the material things we believe we need. Together with the family we collected fire wood making a human chain of about 20m apart spread over a km. We baked the bread seen here with the family as well as helped with work in the garden. It was very beneficial for the soul.

Hi Adam,
I really like the warm colors of this picture and the nice expression on the man's face! Perfect light conditions and a very interesting point of view. Everytime I see pictures of Peru I want to return to that beautiful country... I lived there for a year! Thanks for this picture and wish you all the luck with your job there!
Regards,
Thomas
