Photographer’s Note

Riding some olds mules into the Cordillera Hyauhyaush. I was quite surprised as to how many small communities subsisted at these high altitudes. One very nice thing was that the lakes were full of Rainbow trout. Here I turned the image into black and white as it had very bland colour tones. Note the stone enclosures for keeping the livestock in at night and the accomadation with its straw thatch.

Hello Simon,
It looks attractive in B&W with tons of detail. The high-contrast mountains and slopes add quite an impact. The village life is depicted well with the surroundings. Leaving some more room on the left may have been desirable. Regards,

Good quality for a nearly 20 years old image.Good composition with this interesting foreground with the few huts and animals.And it`s a nice view at this snowy mountan in the distance.

Hi Simon,
A stunning view, very well composed. I like the high contrast that seem to enhance the rough textures of the landscape. Maybe some little detail in that shadowed slope would be welcomed, but I like its darkness, that separates markedly the FG and the snowed peak.
