Photographer’s Note
Huaraz is the capital city of Ancash state. It is surrouned by high peaks and it was demolished by many earthquakes. In the background we can see Huascaran peak, with almost 7 thousand meters of altitude, it is the second highest mountain in western world. Huascaran has a big amount of ice in its top and during big earthquakes that ice can be lead to the valleys in few minutes, killing people very fast. This isn´t a rare tragedy in this region, the last one was in 1970 when the ice, stones and mud that came from that peak hit Yungay city, killing around 20,000 people. --- I arrived in this region in a bad week cause weather wasn´t clear and I suffered with rain spoiling my photos. --- It was a sunday morning, when I was lefting Huaraz, that I saw Huascaran shining in the sun. It was a impressive view but I couldn´t stay so much time there and I was a little far to take a good close up of it. Anyway here we can see the chaotic town of Huaraz and its new cathedral that is being build in a new style cause people don´t like so much of the oldest, covered with glass.

Bem executada.
Abraço,
Zeca

Hi Jorge,
An interesting image. The imposing peak of the mountain is the centre of attraction in the photo, for me, and the contrast of the shadowed buildings against the sunlight peak enhances the overall result. I like the panaramic cropping, but maybe it's been cropped a little too much.
Cheers,
Grant

Very nice view! You have done a good job managing the light here, getting both the city and the mountain peak in the background properly exposed. I like the tv towers (?) reaching towards the sky. It might just be me, but I don't think it is straight, everything seems to be leaning to the right. I also agree with Grant, in that it seems a bit too cropped. Minor details tho, great photo.

Beautiful, painting-like picture, (what seems a bit like a moviescreen because of the black stripes above and below). One can wait for the moving of the scene... Good proportions. Pal

Jorge,
Linda fotografia aqui. Composição e cores excelentes. Lindo pano de fundo.
Com relação à "ferramenta", que vc questionou em minha foto, foi no photoshop, em saturação para cada cor. Se vc quiser saber em detalhes, me fale que te digo step by step.
abraço
Paulo

Jorge
Really skillful photo. You have shown a bit of the city and the beautiful breath-taking mountains as a background. The composition could not be better. You pulled the most of it. What's to say? Good job and cheers!
