Photographers Note
I love mountains. They can always astonish me, they have always something to give me. And I particularly love those fastly vanishing moments, when the first rays of sun reach the peaks, encompassing them with some extremely soft and warm lights.
I was lucky to see this wonder in Peru, too. It happened me in the Cordillera Huayhuash, when I participated to a week-long trekking. On our third day I woke up early for make a short climb to the hill close to our camp. It was freezing and I was soon out of breath, but it was worth to: I could catch these wonderful first lights on the peaks of the central range of Huayhuash. Those peaks - there are about half a dozen of them in one group - are almost all over 6000 metres. The highest one, the Yerupaya has 6634 metres - it is the second highest peak of Peru. From the camp they did not even seem so high - perhaps because the camp itself was at 4300 metres... It was a real wonder anyway, something to remember for a lifetime.

Hi Andras,
Wonderful capture of the snow capped mountain top. The first colour on the top is beautifully captured. The orange coloured cloud in front of the peak is creating a mystry by engulfing the peak. Great work.
Best regards

Dear Andras,
Ahhhh...Great colors and sharpness. Excellent interplay of light and shadow with the first sunrays lighting up the mountain top.

Hi Andras,
what a beautiful image..
the early light is (almost) always the best.. and you are showing it here..
sun light gives a special "honda" to the whole photo, in particular to the peak.. and the cloud took also a beautiful colour..

andrea

Fine landscape shot, Andras! Those early freezing mornings are the one that "freeze" in your collective memory and stand out every time you go back in time to the trip...The still quietness is so strong, and the display of strong Hue's on those white peaks...Timing is very good, capturing that snaking cloud covering part of the peak...
Well taken!

Dear Andreas ... and I love mountains too. This is so beautiful up here and the first light just so perfect. I also like the clouds hiding the mountain top, keeping it secret.
Greetings, Barbara

Andras,
Great photo with excellent lighting and sharpness. The colors of the early sunlight are remarkable on the mountain and the clouds.
Nice contrast between the brightness of the sunlit areas and the deep shadows.
Thanks,
Asa
