Photographer’s Note
We were rewarded with this view after climbing a very steep grassy bank on a shortcut on the Huayhuash circuit. The path was so steep that our donkeys (carrying our equipment) had to go the long way around. This is right by the basecamp for Siula Grande (the main Huayhuash mountain of Joe Simpson fame) and the view of the mountain should have been spectacular from this point, except we couldn't see it at all because of the low cloud - very dissapointing, but thats how it is in the mountains. As we were in a small group we couldnt even pitch up our tent and wait for a day (or 2).

David you photo captures the moment beautifully. The colors are great and the fluff of the clouds provide a sharp contrast to the rocks and mountains.
Good Job!

A great photo, very sharp and with strong colors expecially the blue of the water. Nice choice in allowing the water to extend in a diagonal along the bottom half of the photo.

Fantastic view! I like these clouds on the mountain slopes and the dark water of the lakes. Great composition. Well seen and done.
Thanks for share.
