Huayhuash range Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is the first proper view you get of the Huayhuash range when doing the trek round them. I dont think I have ever seen a range of impressive mountains as closely packed as this.
The trek is almost 2 weeks long and it goes over (I think) 8 passes over 4700m, the highest is just a bit over 5000m. You can see the (first) pass here on the left side, a U shape in the black rock.

Very nice picture David, wonderful colors and sharpness. I like this siccession of plans, from foreground to background. The mountain is really well located in the frame. Well done !

Hi David,
What I like in this picture, except the obvious things like beautiful landscape, wonderful perspective, etc - is the fact that the light is just a little harsh, just enough to reflect the feeling of a sunny day but still not unpleasant. I also like the tonal gradient here: brown-green to yellow-green to grey-green to dark grey to white to blue, with patches of grey rock here and there. The white veil of cloud also looks nice. Really nice shot.

You need to make a big job to see these mountains... They are beautiful as well as junipers and rocks on the fore ground. Andes are very impressive!

Very nice vertical presentation David, great landscape with mountain view, very pleasant. The colors and light are excellents, nicely completed with a wonderful blue sky, good composition technicaly also, well done.
