Photographer’s Note
We had a rest day at this amazing spot towards the end of our trek around the Cordillera Huayhuash. I spent most of it sitting in this spot just watching the clouds move around the peaks.
Trekking life is so simple - walk, rest, eat, sleep - no unnecessary worries, I love it.

I'm not sure, but probably this is a pic from the Shiula Grande??? Well done, the compo is fine but sometimes the people can not see the depth of the valley o the huge of the mountains...

What a superb landscape photo. The lake looks as if it could be filled with oil as it is so black. We have such a contrast with the white mountain and the dark blue sky.
Geography was my favourite subject at school, and glaciers are facinating things and you've certainly captured this one. What altitude are you at, and how high is the mountain?

Trés belle photo! L'équilibre entre les plans est intéressant, de même que les contrastes.

great shot, David. I like the frame and your POV is very good. You captured very well the snow and the clouds hanging over the mountains add a special touch to the composition. Beautiful colors and great sharpness. I like the vertical frame very much.
Nice work

bonsoir avid,
encore une photo de grande qualité. le polarisant est fabuleux pour la meige mais assombrit un peu trop le premier plan.
une grande netteté et une composition superbe.
congrats

Impressive mountain view! I like this ripple on the lake water, icefall and mountains with many details, clouds and dark high altitude sky. And everything on one picture!

Hi David! It's only recently that I discovered your photos. Well, your landscape shots are amazing! The sharpness, colors and lighting are well composed! The white snow in your photo here contrasts well with the shadows and land at the foreground. POV is very good as well! Thanks for sharing you adventures. rgds.

Lovely lake and scenery. It's the "walk" part that keeps out the tour bus and cruise ship riffraff.

What a great spot to watch and wait for the clouds to pass over the cordillera. I wish I was there on one occasion. Let me ask just one question.. Did you have a wider lens, I wonder what's around, or did you want
the frame deliberately tight ?
In all cases, wonderful picture.. Izz

Nature at it's best and you were there to bring us a little piece of it through this image. Thanks

What a beautiful image David...Stunning!
I found it hard to choose which picture to critique........so many wonderful gems!
The composition is very pleasing, love the shadow detail on the mountains. The way the clouds mimic the form of the peaks is really interesting.
it would have been nice to have seenmore detail in the shadow area in the foothills at the far end of the lake maybe?
your images remind me of great Ansel Adams, boy, what a compliment eh!!!!

Stunning... Wow. I can see why you could sit and watch the clouds. Was it an organised trek or did you just pack a bag and go?

The contrast of light between the dark lake and the shinig ice is what I love on this photo.
This image make us understand how small you can be in front of Nature.
Thank you,
Stefano
