Photographer’s Note
Around lunchtime on the 6th day of our trek round the Cordillera Huayhuash we descended from a pass to this lake.
It was one of those sunny and rainy at the same time moments.
The lake is man made, for hydroelectric power, despite being miles from the nearest house.

Beautiful shot. A little dark, but at the same time that gives the image an interesting feeling.

Nice place, nice composition. Will be better to rotate it 1º CCW... I also surprised: why lake? It is reservoir...

Excellent David!! The cleanness is great. I really like your composition. The light and the contrast are well balanced. Nice job. Your holidays were certainly wonderful! Regards, Marc

Nice mood, perfect composition. The weather reminds me of a Magritte painting that combines a night and day scene...
I would also rotate the picture a bit

beautiful, transportive shot. Wouldn't change anything here, very nice use of provia or velvia?

Le contraste est super bien pensé ajouté à cela des teintes naturelles ; le nuage qui se crève sur le lac est de toute beauté.
magnifique réalisatio

Man made but looks secluded and in the wilderness. I like the clouds that hanging above it. The contrast may be adjusted a bit I think, but maybe that would change the mood a bit.

Hi David - just ran into this one today while pondering whether to post a Peru tomorrow (I wont after all). This is the kind of photo people wish they had taken, reservoirs do not often make good photos, this is an outstanding exception. (Green face thing tomorrow, I'm out of them for the 1st time since I joined TE)
