Photographer's Note
Two societies - the one living high in the Andese mountains of the poor local Peruvians and the other one the much richer of the foreigners coming to spend their money here. Two societies, however one train. One engine with different carriages. The red carriage for locals, cheap travel, low comfort and many local people like the one from my picture "Hard life in her eyes". The two last carriages in blue, full of opulence - one restaurant carriage and the other smoker's saloon with an observation terrace for a few foreigners. Spectacular views from there. Expensive but unique experience while travelling from Cusco to Puno over La Raya Pass. Easy, just one train and two strictly separated Worlds. How much money spent here by the richer travellers remains here to improve the hard life of the locals ? Where does the money go ?
Compared with the original Highlights&Shadows were used on midtones as well as highlights.

Hello Michael,
Excellent picture. You have captured the details of the train very sharply while showing the flor with a moving sensation. This is really good, how did you do it?
Regarding the separation, there is no prohibition to foreigners from taking the local cars, as a matter of fact if you take local transportation like the rest of the people they will treat you with more respect than id you just take tourist services.
The money from tourism as well as from other things does improve the life of locals, you have to go deep into the provinces to the poorest cities such as Ayacucho and Huancavelica to see how everyone now has electricity and water, and how itnernet cafes for locals are popping up everywhere. There is a lot of changes in the livign standards of people in the last 15 years and you can really tell if you compare the difference.
Cheers
Daniel

Great shot, Michael.
I really like this composition because it brings back great memories of my trip to Peru in 1994.
I like the motion effect in this shot. I don't know what speed you used but I'm surprised that you were still able to have the rest of the scene nicely focused.
Thanks for sharing.

Perfect focus on the locomotive and first wagons...

Good comments. Atleast they are in separate compartments. It is much better than the international flights with just a curtin separating the Executive class and the Economy class. I've experienced similar infrastucture in Indian trains as well.

Hi Michael, The feeling of speed is excellent, you have managed it very well, the depth is first class & the train is going right into it, dazzling colour & brilliant light, nothing to say about your POV just perfect, & the whole shot has been beautifully crafted, kind regards Wilson.

Quality photo with the perfect focusing of the mountain and the blurred ground, making the movement (high speed) illusion. Interesting note also.
