Photographer’s Note
"Every generation blames the one before"
This is part of the lyrics from the song: "The living years", Mike and the Mechanics (which I like too much).
It is very interesting cause it talks about an old and never ending conflict that involve generations.
Fathers and sons sometimes seem to be one against the other.
The "established" power (father`s) against the incipient and revolutionary power (son`s).
It is sad to see that in many cases they end up separated. The differences in mentalities are stronger than love. This is not an uncommon story.
Stubborness and desire to impose one own`s way of thinking may lead to separation.
Even if we are either swimming or rowing at the same waters, sometimes we prefer to go in opposite directions.
K.
Ps.: Only cropping and usual adjustments. Nothing weird here.
I hope you like this.
I did keep the color, I was missing it somehow.
Part of the lyrics...I am abusing of TE`s generosity to write notes... ;)
More crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I'm afraid that's all we've got
You say you just don't see it
He says it's perfect sense
You just can't get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language
Talking in defence
Say it loud
Say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye
So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It's the bitterness that lasts
So don't yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different day
And if you don't give up
And don't give in
You may just be O.K.
I wasn't there that morning
When my father passed away
I didn't get to tell him
All the things I had to say
I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I'm sure I heard his echo
In my baby's new born tears
I just wish I could have told him
In the living years

Delightful Cesar! The red oar really lights up the image, but it is the face of the boy and the attentive gaze of the man that tell the story here. I like the tight crop and this image definitely needed the colors. Fine work here young man.

Magnificent Cesar! I like the photo - It's beautiful and well composed, but the note made it for me. I touched so many points, so true and so universal. Bravo!

Very sensitive note Cesar, and excellent to illustrate this photograph. I like the way they're going in the same direction, but yet turned to opposite directions. Very symbolic and well done.

Nice cropping, so tight. Lively colors but maybe a little oversaturated. I like the eyecontact between the two persons.

It's a great song, Cesar, and you found a wonderful photographic analogy to it with your fine shot. Great colors and appropriate cropping to present this moment on the water. The postures and gazes seem to be telling a lot.
Photo added to the song theme.

Volvimos a los barquitos!!! Has visto los mios del riachuelo como te prometi hace tiempo?
Hermosos colores y excelente encuadre.
Pareciera con un poquitin de falta de nitidez... tal vez por el mismo efecto del agua.
Bravo!.
