Photographer’s Note
What a beautiful word, very profound.
Every time I hear it, I wonder about the real concept of freedom.
When we are young, what we most desire is to be free, to be free from rules, from recipes, from the tirany of the older people, from the written ways how to do things.
Later we will learn things are not so simple, and that freedom does not have a fun interpretation.
It is associated with responsibility.
To be free means to be able to cope with the effort of life. To get rid of the ropes that tie us to our strongest limitations.
To be able to row, harder and harder as we grow older to realize our ultimate goal as human beings.
I still wonder about its meaning.
I still wonder if I am really free.
I still wonder if I would ever be.
K.

BEautiful graphic composition, with interesting shapes and excellent use of high contrast. I like the effect of the conrast on the water ripples. Good job, Cesar.

Interesting compo cesar. The game of light and shadows works well here to settle the atmosphere, although you lose all the details in the shadows because of the lateral light pouring from the left. Learning is taking a step forward into freedom. We're never really free. But we're never real prisoners neither.

Hi Kike. Beautiful entry for your pictionary. I like your composition with the two main element positioned in opposing corners. The b&w conversion enhances the silhouette play, as well as the light effects on the rippled water surface, in a fine way. A well balanced photo, I like it.

Very good contrasts here, both technical and metaphorical.
Texture of water surface makes a good base for what's going on with subjects placed around in a pleasant composition.

Hi Cesar
very good composition with strong contrast with light. freedom appears like painful in your shot with the man in the background.
may be you are right, sure freedom is a daily fight.

Very strong compsotion with the two crafts in opposite corners. The moody light and sihouette job is very strong too. All together you get a very poetic picture that goes well with your thoughts.
Water looks a bit hard, maybe a bit oversharpened?

fascinating. I like the way everything is reduced to the absolute necessary: no colours and the main objects are just reduced to black silhouettes.
The more important one is the small boat in the upper left, which moves into a brighter area...
The bent back of the person in the boat makes it very clear that "freedom" can be hard work, but at least you have a chance of getting to a brighter place - unlike the boat in the foreground which is held back by a line.
Very metaphorical and technically almost perfect.
(Maybe there could be just a tiny bit of detail in the boat in the forground)
