Photographer’s Note

Along paraguayan roads there are fruit kiosks where you can find fruits according to the season.

The kiosks are very simple, usually made of wood, a simple structure where the fruit (packed in dozens by means of nylon meshes) is hanged up waiting for the clients.

When you drive, you can hardly see the people there, but when you stop next to one kiosk, "suddenly" the owner appears from the bushes willing to sell its merchandise.

We stopped to purchase grey fruit yesterday and the woman who attended us had 5 kids, all of them quite curious but at the same time shy.
At the moment of the stop I did not see any of them, and a snap later they were there...surrounding us.

I chose the shyest of the group.

It was not an easy capture,
I took a few shots and collected all her smiles with me. That was the best thing I grabbed there besides the fruits :D.

K.
it was 3:41 p.m. Harsh light. Very difficult light conditions.

ISO 100.
Adjusted a bit the levels, contrast and added a black frame.
Please do not get confused by the "noise" here. I looked several times before I realized that the noise comes from the "mesh" that contains the fruit mainly which is blurred by the DOF selected.
If you take a closer look you will distinguish "patterns" of the mesh. It is a strange combination the blurred and the mesh.

The other possible origin is Picasa and my lack of experience using it. I did alter the highlights with this soft, maybe...not sure.
